• Therapy-specific teams. Experienced professionals (both clinical and administrative) work exclusively with one product or with a related group of therapies.
• Specialized storage and shipping. We keep our wares in modern, temperature-controlled facilities, and we ship them in special containers that’ll maintain their stability.
• Wholesale services. Some payors require the physician to buy and bill. When appropriate, we provide wholesale services to support the unique needs of the manufacturer and product.
• Benefit research. Reimbursement specialists explain coverage and pharmacy options to patients. They also assist with the commencement of therapy.
• Triage services. Occasionally, Accredo is out of a given network and unable to serve a patient. In such instances, we have a commitment to route the prescription to a participating pharmacy and inform the doctor or clearinghouse where it was sent.
• Counseling programs. Our pharmacists provide extensive initial counseling on medication. At the prescriber’s request, our nurses teach patients self-injection or self-infusion techniques. And our clinical teams are available 24/7 by phone to answer questions and provide support.
• Reimbursement assistance. We manage compassionate-need programs for the uninsured and underinsured, according to a given manufacturer’s requirements.
• Product replacement programs. Our pharmacy team can process replacement requests according to the manufacturer’s specifications, then ship the replacement product with approval.
